Food Photography – 30 Delicious Shots By William Hondokusumo

Food Photography is a type of commercial photography that captures attractive photographs of food for use in cookbooks, advertisements, menus and packaging. When you do food photography always select the food items which are fresh and never over manipulate the food item. Remember to keep it simple. You can also use props and select a background that complements the food items which you want to photograph. But ensure that you do not overdo with the arrangement of the background. Keeping a glass or a fork or a flower or a napkin can do magic.. Food photography can give great results if a tripod is used to take the shots. Moreover, it will allow you to take pictures with long exposures. This will come handy if you are shooting place with low light. Capture shots with lighting, no extra light, with props and without props. Keep exploring and experimenting. Coming to the kind of lens to be used in food photography, I would recommend a 50mm f 1.8 as this is a fast lens and helps to isolate the food from the background. If you are shooting a steaming hot dish, use a longer zoom. This will prevent the lens from steaming up. In this post i am sharing food photography by well-noted photographer William Hondokusumo. William is an Indonesian food photographer who graduated from the University of New South Wale, Sydney in 2000. He aims to travel the world in order to capture beautiful photographs of food found across. Explore the gallery of Food Photography – 30 Delicious Shots by William Hondokusumo
